I've been getting some lock ups on every deathray game i've been playing recently. At about 10 to 20 minutes in, boom, lockup. Havent been able to find anything predictable about the lock ups, they seem to happen randomly.
Also, battlezone.log doesnt seem to be showing anything meaningful.
Any idea on the causes or solutions to the lockup problem?

Zeeder and I spent many hours trying to solve this issue and never resolved it. We made all kinds of changes trying different aips, unit odfs and so on. Examined thousands of lines of AIP logs.
We managed to finish a number of games, so it's very random, the odds seem to be about 2 out of 3 games will ultimately freeze.
We never had enough beta help to run a series of team strat games without the AIPs loaded to prove whether it was AIP related or not.
One theory I've had was that map has the greatest elevation changes of any map I know of, so it could be related to a pathing issue.
Shame too, I love that map, it's the most interesting map I've made. This freeze issue is the main reason I never promoted ZTV as anything but a beta release.
On the Waterworld DM map there is also a freeze issue, though it doesnt happen as often or as soon. So we were kind of leaning towards something in the AIPs causing it. Could also be one of the many unique weapons systems or units though. Nothing in ZTV is "conventional".

Well if it was the elevation changes, then theoretically, the lava icarus map should also freeze since it has an even greater elevation change than Deathray (at least I think so). I havent been able to get a multiplayer game of icarus up... yet.

I think Deathray has much greater height differences, especially concerning where the pathing goes. It's quite extreme.
The Icarus lava map has a huge mountain, but nothing paths across it except bombers. Plus the Icarus maps dont load any APIs. And they dont freeze, which is one reason to suspect AIPs.
They have their own bug that sometimes appears though. The aircraft dispenser stations on occasion will eject the ships horizontally at high speed. Other times they work perfectly. Frustrating.

I always thought that was a feature. Like the warp scouts on ZJourney.
